Jason Doucette started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2000 and received his Black Belt from Doug Esposito under Leo Dalla’s Big Brothers affiliation in 2014. Jason started wrestling in Middle School in 1984, and began coaching youth wrestling for Marsteller middle school coaching them to multiple regional championship titles. He was also a member of the Division One wrestling program at VMI. Jason has trained in Thai Boxing since 2002, which helped prepare him for his entry into mixed martial arts. With competitive experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (to include being a Pan-American silver medalist), MMA, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and Coaching, Jason brings valuable knowledge to his students, for self-defense and those desiring to test themselves in a competitive arena.

Leo Dalla Started training Jiu-Jitsu in 1987 at age of 13, in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil under Jorge Pereira, passing through all the belts (Yellow – Orange – Green – Blue – Purple – Brown – Black). Known in Brazil and throughout the World simply as “DALLA” he is one of the most well respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters and instructors in the World. Having a very successful competition history in Brazil from Yellow to Brown belt Dalla became the very first student to receive a Black Belt under Jorge Pereira in June 1993. His instructor Jorge Pereira received his Black Belt from the Legendary Rickson Gracie. Once receiving his Black Belt Dalla continued to compete showing that he is amongst the best in the World. He has dedicating his life into teaching the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the past 14 years, and now he has moved to America at the request of his very first Black Belt student Lloyd Irvin to open a school in Virginia to develop the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the Virginia area. Dalla has been a very active competitor, nationally and Internationally having been a medalist in some of the biggest tournaments the sport has to offer. Even now Dalla still lays it on the line competing in Local, National and International events.

Doug Esposito – Vanguard Gym
Doug Esposito has been training, studying, and coaching martial arts for over thirty-five years. As a professional instructor, his experience teaching adults has included curriculum design at all levels and literally thousands of hours of formal instructional training and coaching. He started training karate and jiu-jitsu at the age of ten under and added wrestling and boxing to his skills while in junior high and high-school. Doug continued to train in submission grappling and studied Muay Thai when he went into the Marine Corps and was selected to serve as the Chief Instructor at Quantico’s lead school for the Marine Corps’ Martial Arts Program. He has extensively trained in Weapons Handling (firearms, bladed, and others), Combative Engagements, Wrestling, Boxing, Judo, Grappling, Thai Boxing , and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), in which he is a Black Belt under the world famous Leo Dalla. His competition resume includes an undefeated Thai boxing record and multiple Pan-Am medals at the black belt level. Keith Matias – Jiu Jitsu & Assistant Kids Instructor
Keith began wrestling at the age of 5 and has nearly 15 years of competitive experience, including winning a New York state championship and being a 5 time competitor on the New York state freestyle national team. Keith has also trained in Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, and holds a Brown Belt in American JiuJitsu from Master Phil Theodorou. In 2004 Keith started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and received his Purple Belt from Doug Esposito under Leo Dalla’s Big Brothers affiliation in 2012. Keith has been coaching youth wrestling for the Haymarket Hurricanes since 2011 and is also a teacher with the Fairfax County Public School System.
